On March 9, 1985, Pastor Rafael Maldonado Motta was born in Maracay, Venezuela, a racing driver.
His beginnings were in the BMX bicycling, where he managed to be national sub champion and from there he gets the passion for speed.
At the age of 7 he started Karting in his hometown and went to Europe to dedicate himself fully to his passion. Later he became the champion of the Italian Formula Renault 2000 in 2004.
That same year he made his first test in Formula One, which made him the youngest Venezuelan driver in history to drive a car in the top category.
In 2005 he signed with the Renault F1 driver development program (Renault Driver Development). This represented Pastor’s entry into official training as a racing driver for the renowned brand.
The following year he decided to take part in the World Series by Renault championship, finishing third in the championship, thanks to a penalty received by the team that eliminated a race he won and compromised his first place.

In 2010, he was crowned champion of the GP2 Series, achieving the record of consecutive victories.
This world championship was achieved two dates before the end of the season.
The consecutive year was his great debut in Formula One with the Williams team and marks again the history, becoming the first and only Venezuelan to win a grand prix in the top category, it was in the circuit of Catalonia, Spain in 2012.
Change of uniform - 2015
Then in 2015 he changed his uniform and headed to the Lotus team, with which he raced until the following year which was his official retirement from the Formula One grid.
24 HOURS OF DAYTONA - 2019
He is signed by the company Pirelli for some tire tests the following year and then decides to do long races in the Wec championship, where he took several victories between 2018 and 2019 but one of the most outstanding and emblematic was the 24 hours of Daytona that he won with his team in the LMP2 category.
Currently Pastor has founded a Family Office, which represents his center of operations to manage all activities related to his career and new projects.
